About Mac Cumpian
Mac Cumpian (she/her) is a dedicated advocate for the arts, creative, and educator committed to making cultural experiences accessible to all.
With a background in dance, education, social media, and art-making, Mac strives to break down barriers and foster a sense of community within the world of museums, visual arts and performing arts, and cultural studies. Her Southeast Texas upbringing in a non-traditional environment has profoundly influenced her approach, emphasizing inclusivity and dismantling institutional and societal norms. Her professional interests include teaching, curating, mentoring, creating, collecting, and fostering community.
Currently she works as a freelance arts educator based in NYC, and in her free time she (naturally) visits museums, galleries, and libraries, attends theater performances, explores her community's parks and architecture, dances, and runs the occasional 10k. She has a B.S. in Studio Art with a concentration in Education from Lamar University and a M.A. in Museum Studies from NYU.
Fun Fact: Mac had over 100 visits to exhibitions, museums, galleries, and art fairs in 2022, 2023, 2024, & 2025!
